The city of Querétaro is one of the most important and well-preserved cities, considered a colonial treasure in the heart of México with a rich historical past.

The city of Querétaro is one of the oldest in Mexico. It was declared as the “Very Noble and Loyal City of Santiago de Queretaro” in 1656 where only Spaniards lived. In the seventeenth century, many monasteries were built by the Jesuits, Dominicans and Franciscans, making Queretaro the training site for missionaries sent to the north of the country such as Texas and California.

It has been recognized on several occasions as the metropolitan area with the best quality of life and the safest city in Mexico.

In 1996, the historic center of Queretaro was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

The City of Querétaro is considered a colonial treasure thanks to its historic center that contains beautiful colonial architecture that can be admired today. Among them is the church of San Francisco of the eighteenth century, one of the most important, the Regional Museum built in the sixteenth century by the Franciscans and being the first monastery for the evangelization of the indigenous people. Plaza de la Independencia surrounded by colonial mansions and restaurants, the Art Museum located in the San Agustin monastery of the 17th century in a baroque style, the church and former monastery of San Felipe Neri from the 17th century inaugurated by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1921, the Palace of the Corregidora and many others.

This impressive work was built between 1726 and 1738 by the Marquis Juan Antonio de Urrutia and Arana in order to supply water from the Cañada to the city. It consists of 74 arches with a length of 1280 meters and a maximum height of 23 meters. It is considered one of the most admirable structures of Mexio and America. Nowadays, its lighting system highlights the beauty of its structure and aesthetics every night.

The city has had constant economic and industrial growth since 1990, making it the most dynamic city in Latin America. Querétaro lives today one of its most important stages in wine production. It has had a rapid growth in vitiviniculture attracting renowned Spanish wine producers. Currently, Querétaro ranks second in wine production after the region of Baja California and first producer of sparkling wine in our country.
