Another option to obtain the Temporary Import Permit of Vehicles without having to show up at the Consulate is to use the Banjercito service to process permits Via Internet, in which you can obtain the permit from your home at a lower cost ($ 45 instead of $ 51). Once you fill in all the fields required by the system and pay the permit via internet, the system will generate the permit that you can print. The permit contains barcodes and printed security locks that will allow Mexican authorities to confirm its validity when you show it when crossing the border.
