The city of Quer\u00e9taro is one of the most important and well-preserved cities, considered a colonial treasure in the heart of M\u00e9xico with a rich historical past.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city of Quer\u00e9taro<\/strong> is one of the oldest in Mexico. It was declared as the “Very Noble and Loyal City of Santiago de Queretaro<\/strong>” in 1656<\/strong> where only Spaniards lived. In the seventeenth century, many monasteries were built by the Jesuits, Dominicans <\/strong>and Franciscans,<\/strong> making Queretaro the training site for missionaries sent to the north of the country such as Texas<\/strong> and California<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been recognized on several occasions as the metropolitan area with the best quality of life<\/strong> and the safest city<\/strong> in Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1996, the historic center of Queretaro was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO<\/span><\/p>\n

The City of Quer\u00e9taro is considered a colonial treasure thanks to its historic center that contains beautiful colonial architecture that can be admired today. Among them is the church of San Francisco<\/strong> of the eighteenth century, one of the most important, the Regional Museum<\/strong> built in the sixteenth century by the Franciscans<\/strong> and being the first monastery for the evangelization of the indigenous people. Plaza de la Independencia<\/strong> surrounded by colonial mansions and restaurants, the Art Museum<\/strong> located in the San Agustin monastery of the 17th century in a baroque style, the church and former monastery of San Felipe Neri<\/strong> from the 17th century inaugurated by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla<\/strong> in 1921<\/strong>, the Palace of the Corregidora<\/strong> and many others.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aqueduct is one of the most notable symbols of the city<\/span><\/p>\n

This impressive work was built between 1726<\/strong> and 1738<\/strong> by the Marquis Juan Antonio de Urrutia and Arana<\/strong> in order to supply water from the Ca\u00f1ada to the city. It consists of 74 arches<\/strong> with a length of 1280<\/strong> meters and a maximum height of 23 meters<\/strong>. It is considered one of the most admirable structures of Mexio and America. Nowadays, its lighting system highlights the beauty of its structure and aesthetics every night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Queretaro is an important economic center of business and is the headquarters of large corporations<\/span><\/p>\n

The city has had constant economic and industrial growth since 1990,<\/strong> making it the most dynamic city in Latin America<\/strong>. The basis of its economy is in the information and data technology industry, aviation manufacturing and maintenance, the automotive and machinery industry, customer service centers and the production of chemicals and food.<\/span><\/p>\n

The state of Quer\u00e9taro has become the first exporter and second wine producer in Mexico<\/span><\/p>\n

Quer\u00e9taro lives today one of its most important stages in wine production. It has had a rapid growth in vitiviniculture attracting renowned Spanish wine producers<\/strong>. Currently, Quer\u00e9taro ranks second in wine production after the region of Baja California<\/strong> and first producer of sparkling wine<\/strong> in our country.<\/span><\/p>\n
