San Miguel de Allende<\/strong>, a town founded in 1542 by Fray de San Miguel. It grew during the Viceroyalty as it was in the Route of the Silver. Trade, work with iron, wool and quarry were daily trades. Artists from North America came to join the local artisans and so in the 1940s the school of Fine Arts emerged along with a cultural bohemian atmosphere that attracted the curiosity of renowned artists like David Alfaro Siqueiros who arrived to educate and give even more prestige to this city declared a World Heritage Site<\/strong> by UNESCO<\/strong> since 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2013 won first place in Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveler magazine and in 2016 won the 3rd. place in Travel & Leisure in its World Best Awards of the year, being considered the best in Latin America.<\/span><\/p>\n

And why the name of San Miguel de Allende?<\/span><\/h3>\n

At the time of the Franciscans it was a village known as San Miguel, El Grande<\/strong>. It was long after the story that Ignacio Allende was born here who participated and lodged in the conspiracies of the insurgent movement. In 1826, the town became a city turning into San Miguel de Allende<\/strong>, a unique colonial city.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Parish of San Arc\u00e1ngel<\/strong> was born as a parish temple after the foundation of the town of San Miguel El Grande. Through the years, it remained in ruins and it was rebuild on several occasions. Between the years of 1880 and 1890 it acquires a new transformation, it rebuilds its facade giving it a personality of its own that stands out from any point of the city you look at it.<\/span><\/p>\n
