What is liability only?

Liability-only is the legal minimum coverage required to cover your civil responsibility in case of an accident. Liability coverage includes indemnity for property damage and personal injury for people different from those riding in your vehicle. Liability only does not cover injuries or property losses of people traveling in the insured vehicle.

What is the coverage on a Mexican auto insurance policy?

Collision, Roll Over/Turn Over and Glass: The company pays for loss to the insured car, for all damages in excess of a deductible amount caused by: collision, overturning and glass. Towing expenses are covered in order to move the vehicle to a place designated for repairs by the company.


Total Theft, Fire and Natural Disasters: This insurance coverage protects your vehicle up to the value you have stated on your policy for total theft, fire, lightning, explosion and meteorological phenomenon such as windstorms, cyclones, hurricanes and earthquakes.
Vandalism and partial theft are excluded, as well as theft of parts, components or accessories (unless as direct result of the total theft of the insured vehicle).

Third Party Liability - BI/PD (Bodily Injury/Property Damage) –CSL (Combined Single Limit): Coverage for all sums in which the insured becomes legally obligated to pay to third parties (not vehicle's occupants) because of bodily injury (BI) or property damage (PD), and sometimes other wrongsdoings to which an insurance policy applies.

Medical Expenses: A covered loss occurring in Mexico where the driver and/or occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries will be paid. Medical Service Assistance is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and includes the following: medical referrals, within the Mexican Republic the company will provide medical referrals, and ambulance service. If it becomes necessary, the company will provide the names and phone numbers of ambulance services and arrange for their dispatch, after costs have been authorized by the insurer. This coverage is up to $2,000 for each injured occupant but for no more than $10,000 per event.

Legal Assistance: Coverage provides legal services and payments of bail bonds required in the event of a covered loss. The company will appoint, upon request, the services of professional attorneys and will pay for the procedural expenses. The services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including a toll free telephone line from Mexico for legal assistance service.

Road Side Assistance: Should your auto become disabled on the road, call the Emergency Service Line, a service vehicle will be dispatched from an authorized local garage to help you. Benefits of this coverage vary depending upon the policy/company selected.

Note: Usually, vehicles valued under $3,000 or above $80,000; or over 15 years old, are not eligible for full coverage, depending on the Mexican Insurance companies these rules could vary. Motorcycles are not eligible for medical expenses.

BEFORE THE POLICY BEGINS
You may cancel your policy directly in our website
using 'My Account'.
Under this terms you will receive a 100% refund of the
'Net Premium'
The 'Policy Fee' is NOT refundable under any circumstance.

AFTER THE POLICY BEGINS
The first step to cancel a policy that has already begun, is to send a cancellation request by email to service@bestmex.com or by fax to 888.329.6942, explaining the reason, please send your contact information.

We strongly recommend to send your request during business hours (9am to 6pm CST), otherwise your request could be attended the next business day. BestMex and the Insurance company, will analize your request and will give you answer.

If the cancellation applies, you should consider that conditions and restrictions may apply based on the following:

Type of policy.

Insurance company.
In addition, please consider the number of days that the policy has already covered. The refund is recalculated according to the premium earned on the number of days used.

How many events does my policy covers?
The policy will pay all events during the policy’s effective days caused by collision, total theft as well as third party liability, medical expenses and legal assistance, as long as the deductible(s) are paid for each event.

The coverage for roadside assistance will vary depending on the Insurance Company. Depending on the Insurance Company that you selected the number of covered events for road side assistance will vary from 1 to 3 events per policy. If you purchase a short term policy (not annual policy) you could be covered for just one event; or if you purchase an annual policy, you may be covered for 2 or 3 events during policies’ effective days.
